Basketball Courts Construction
FTS HELLAS is active in the construction of outdoor basketball courts. Building an outdoor basketball court requires careful planning and professional execution. Acrylic flooring is the most common type of flooring used in outdoor sports fields and this is because of its durability, aesthetic appeal and ease of maintenance. FTS HELLAS has specialized know-how and many years of experience in the construction of basketball courts, which meet the strict specifications of FIBA or the Hellenic Basketball Federation.
The playing field should be rectangular, flat, hard surface, free of obstacles. For all stadiums where official events are held by the F.I.B.A. as well as for newly constructed ones, the dimensions of the lines of the playing field should be 28 meters long and 15 meters wide, measured from the inner side of the boundaries of the field. For all other events, the relevant F.I.B.A. member, such as the Zone Committee or the National Federation, has the authority to approve pre-existing playing fields, but with minimum dimensions[1] of 26 meters in length and 14 meters in width. The board measures 1.8 meters x 1.22 meters and the height of the rim is set at 3.05 meters

The first stage in the construction of a basketball court is the configuration of the space based on specific dimensions, to accept the finished surface. The duration and cost of this stage depend on the initial condition of the site. The goal is for the floor to be completely smooth and flat, so that it does not retain water and has a slight diagonal flow of the order of 5/1000. The construction of the underpass is usually done with a closed-type bituminous carpet coating of approximately 6 cm high or the construction of an industrial floor.
CONCRETE BASE
Precision reinforced concrete FTS HELLAS recommends reinforced concrete for basketball courts. The flatness and uniformity of a precision finished concrete base is unparalleled in terms of safety and ball response. However, concrete is a more expensive material than asphalt.
ASPHALT BASE
Asphalt Basketball Court Base Asphalt is a cheaper material than concrete, but will require specialized tools to complete the job. Asphalt subs will require regular maintenance to ensure that cracks and voids do not expand and affect the evenness of the pitch surface.
The surface of a 3x3 court is mainly either acrylic paint or court tiles (snap-on surface)
ACRYLIC SURFACE
For the construction of a 3x3 basketball court with an acrylic floor, the same procedure as for a 5x5 court is followed. That is, a substrate with concrete or asphalt, asphalt emulsion, the acrylic material, the paint and the striping of the field.
3x3 Basketball is a variation of basketball and is played with two opposing teams of three players, in one basket, in half the court.
According to research by ESSEC Business School, commissioned by the International Olympic Committee, 3x3 basketball is the most popular urban team sport in the world
As a sport it is structured and represented by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA), having its own statutory regulations.[1] It is now an Olympic sport as well, as it has been introduced to the Olympic Games program and made its first appearance in them at the 2020 Summer Olympics.
DIMENSIONS
Basketball 3×3 requires a central court (court), with a surface measuring 15m long and 11m wide, and the free throw box measuring 5.8m long and 4.9m wide. The three-point line is 6.75m from the basket.
