The first stage in the construction of a basketball court is the configuration of the space based on specific dimensions, to accept the finished surface. The duration and cost of this stage depend on the initial condition of the site. The goal is for the floor to be completely smooth and flat, so that it does not retain water and has a slight diagonal flow of the order of 5/1000. The construction of the underpass is usually done with a closed-type bituminous carpet coating of approximately 6 cm high or the construction of an industrial floor.

The second stage includes the construction of the final surface by placing the corresponding sports floor. The most common material used in outdoor basketball courts is the elastic carpet of acrylic resins (acrylics) enriched with rubber powder for better shock absorption. When economical construction is the criterion, acrylic carpet without rubber grain coating is preferred. The final racing surface after construction is completed is hard smooth and in many colors.

In the next stage, the lines are made on the field, which have corresponding length and width specifications based on international regulations. The lines of the markings must be fully visible on the playing surface and have a thickness of 5 cm. The usually preferred color for the lines is white, but this is not mandatory.

Finally, the baskets are placed according to the type chosen. Fixed baskets are bolted to concrete bases or fixed to the ground, while portable ones are stabilized with a base that has water or sand in it. There are also baskets that consist only of a board, which is either screwed to the wall or hangs from the ceiling. As for the lighting, it must be placed in such a way that it does not obstruct the vision of the players and referees during the game.

CONCRETE BASE

ASPHALT BASE
Asphalt Basketball Court Base Asphalt is a cheaper material than concrete, but will require specialized tools to complete the job. Asphalt subs will require regular maintenance to ensure that cracks and voids do not expand and affect the evenness of the pitch surface.

ACRYLIC SURFACE
For the construction of a 3x3 basketball court with an acrylic floor, the same procedure as for a 5x5 court is followed. That is, a substrate with concrete or asphalt, asphalt emulsion, the acrylic material, the paint and the striping of the field.
